Here it is, the much awaited STA2.5, relesed as a public beta! I wasnt expecting the beta to become public but, there you go. Everyone download this and give it a test, and dont forget to send in any bugs you find in the comments or to Draconis, there is a reason they make Beta versions Wink

There are a few things you should follow, as noted in the readme, when installing this mod. And also it is a beta so theres the small chance it may mess one or three things up, or not work quite as it should, thats the nature of beta's, so dont expect perfection here, that said this mod is for checking out!

To play the entire mod you will also need to download the Textures, Wich you can find here


This mod is the STA2.5 Beta Version.

Instead of selecting a few people to test this Beta, I'm giving it to the community in order to see what they think of it.
I'd like for whoever uses this mod to keep in mind that this is not the final version of the mod and that there is much that still needs to be done.

Install:
*Important* This mod must be installed on a clean (not modified) version of Star Trek Armada 2.
First, install Star Trek Armada 2 onto your hard drive. Then, add the files from Part 1 (odfs, sods, etc.) and Part 2 (textures) to their correct folders within the Armada2 directory.
*Important* DO NOT overwrite any folders; files must be copied into them. If asked to overwrite files, answer yes.
Keep in mind, folders should NOT be overwritten, but files must be overwritten if asked to do so.

If you followed those instructions exactly, it should work properly.

You can expect the final version of STA2.5 to be complete with build buttons and interfaces. Several ships may also be added, removed, or replaced before the final version is released.

im sooo totally confuddled, i have downloaded the mod, textures pack, patch 1,2 and 3, installed them in that order, and the game crashes as i am about to play a skirmish!


never in my experience of modding games (2-3 years) has this happened. I checked the code and it should work, but it doesn't. I am ttotally confused, has anyone else had this problem, if so, is is fixable.

Look mate i no probably tried very hard but im not allowed to say on this site what the end result is its that bad.

1. the ships are way to big some of thgem like the defiant are decent size yet the enterprise f (titan class) comes out huge.

2. the concorde base thing looks more like something from starwars

3. the shipyards are screwed i.e. the mckinly shipyard looks like a spider with 8 broken legs

4. some of the ships dont have build buttons.

5. the borg construction ships have borg cube build buttons but cant build them

6. the borg adv shipyard doesnt build the cubes.

7. the soverign x and galaxy x have whit saucer sections.

8. the galaxy refit comes out as a galaxy.


I strongly recommend that other people dont download this mod.

how would i port the wasp class to bridge commander, please someone help me .

the models are way to big and units are not so good balanced. with the start units (Enterprise F and Concord class) you can defeat the enemy instantly. but i like the great range of available ships
