Executor Star Destroyer Executor Star Destroyer

This is some truly fantastic work by Starfox1701, bringing the formidable Executor, Darth Vader's own command ship, into A2. There's never been a model of the Executor this detailed, this well done before. It almost makes you want to run a Millennium Falcon along its length just to re-create the escape from Bespin in The Empire Strikes Back. It's that good. The original version was by Warlords Modding Union, and the work that's been done on it represents a fantastic improvement. Note, however, that some game tweaking is going to be in order to get this beast to work for you as starfox intends it.

This was an entry in the 2008 Year End Modding Contest, and it was very difficult judging indeed. To Starfox, we can only say, "most impressive."

Download this one right now. It is your DESTINY.

Cool

Executor Star Dreadnought V1.0

Thank you for downloading this and for taking the time to read the readme file. This mod for A2 Version 1.1. Everything you need to run in game is present. I intend further refinment and more content in later versions so good honest feedback is is apreciated. The model is roughly scaled at 1/4 rescale at stock meaning if the stock sovi is scaled right this is roughly 1/4 as big as it should be. I'll be working on that too.

The Armada II Files staff for a readme template

1 - Installation

Unzip this into a temp or mod directory in your A2 install.

Copy the contents of each folder into the matching folders of you chosen A2 install.

Backup any files that will be overwritten if you wish to save them. Not Needed but is smart incase you or I make a mistake.

Overwrite any requested files. This mod will replace some files from the Star Wars Fleet Command mod so backup them up if you want to save them.

If you are replacing the SWFC SSD with this mod your tech tree files should be fine. If not open your tech1.tt file in the techtree directory and at the bottom add the line
issd.odf 0
and then save and close then open the fulltech.tt file and at the bottom add the same line, save and close.

Now go to your sprite directory and open the weapons.spr file and at the bottom copy the contents of the New_wepons.SPR file and save and close. Now if this is SWFC you will have a wireframe and build button. If not open your gui_global.spr file and add at the bottom copy the contents of the New_gui_global.SPR file and save and close.

and save and close.

Now again if this is a SWFC install the SSD has a yard to build from. If this is not add it to the build list of the yard of your chosing by adding the line
buildItemXX = "issd"
Where XX is the next number in the list. Remeber no yard will buld more than 13 ships.

Now open your RTS.CFG file and scroll down till you find this.
// UI Limits for each resource
int MAX_DILITHIUM = 99999;
int MAX_CREW = 999999;
int MAX_LATINUM = 99999;
int MAX_METAL = 99999;
int MAX_OFFICERS = 999;

int MAX_BIOMATTER = 99999;
It will be near the bottom. Change the values to match this.
// UI Limits for each resource
int MAX_DILITHIUM = 9999999;
int MAX_CREW = 9999999;
int MAX_LATINUM = 9999999;
int MAX_METAL = 9999999;
int MAX_OFFICERS = 999;

int MAX_BIOMATTER = 9999999;
Save and close the file.

Now play and enjoy!

2 - System Requirements

This mod is designed to work best with Star Wars Fleet Command, but that mod is not requiered to use this. THe model here included is a hi poly detailed recreation of the Executor Class. The author(thats me) intends that she be treated as the uber powerful very rare Command ship that these ships where in the Star War universe. If you go about mass building these ships to spam at the AI or you freinds it is likely the you will suffer very bad lag. However as the Executor is intended to replace 10 to 16 Star Destroyers in the battle line so use in this way shouldn't have any negative effects and may even provide a small improvement in game proformance. Use her wisly because I will not be held responsible for a lag induced coma of your game.

3 - Online Multiplayer

As long as you and your opponets intalls are EXACTLY THE SAME this should work online but it has not been tested in multiplayer.

4 - Known Issues

None known. That said if you find any bugs please report them. so I can fix them the next go around.
There is the size of the ship to consider. This is a trully massive ship with all of the normal issues that come with that.

The reasons for this are fairly simple

1) We want to know where our files are being downloaded from!

2) We would prefer only having a few download mirrors because its considerably easier to update a smaller number of mirrors.

8 - Third party use

Lastly, the material can be reused in whole or part in Armada 2 Modifications on the condition that ALL ABOVE credits are in your readme. If you wish to convert these graphics to another game then please contact us. (we haven't ever turned anybody down, we just want to keep track of what they are being used for)
