This is the Romulan Ael'Hlaiim (or D'nara) class starship, brought to you in living colour by k_merse and pepperman. The poly count stands a little high for a ship of this sort but it's worth it. A prettier Romulan design I haven't seen since, well, since the last pepperman design. Wink

Download this and make the Star Empire proud.

Cool

1. DESCRIPTION
The Ael'Hlaiim Class, or also known as D'nara Class is one of the newest starships of the Romulan Star Empire.

2. INSTALLATION
Simply use the installer. The installer will overwrite all of your previous mod so make a backup from your files! If you don't want to lose your own modifications, install the ship in a different directory and put it into the game manually.

3. COMPATIBILITY
The ship uses only basic Armada 2 files. You don't need any additional files for playing the ship.

4. TECHNICAL NOTES
The pack also contains a buildbutton, an Admirals Log image and a wireframe.

5. CREDITS
Model and textures: Pepperman
Armada 2 conversion: k_merse
Buildbutton, wireframe, ad.log image, .odf file: k_merse

6. ACKNOLEWGEMENTS
Thanks for Mayor A. Payne for the SOD tutorial and Pepperman to allowing me to convert his model for Armada II.

You forgot to include a yard .odf in this one. While I installed it manually, it's just something I noticed. You might want to do a V1.1 with a yard .odf included. Just a thought.

P.S. Resistance is futile, eh?

you actually need someone to provide you with a yard you may already have? Just edit the yard(s) you already have. Modders should not have to provide a yard everytime they submit a new ship for download. If they're doing a full conversion, I would expect one.

True, but this one is a .exe installer for those who haven't a clue. Therefore, a yard should be included. Not for me, but for those who don't know how to mod the game.

This is a truly magnificent ship. It will look impressive no matter what shipyard builds it. The stock Rommie Advanced yard looks pretty good with the A2U textures. And this would look very impressive coming out of it. Heck, I may just make the construction ship build this one so a yard does not get in the way.

The File finaly got through eh k_merse. Great job bro, this is fine ship you got here.

I'm glad to see it available for A2, nice work both of you :-)

I know you can build everything in space and form does not have to follow function - but I think this is overstyled. I can only think of it as a stand-alone flagship - it would never see military service I think.

To poster #7, the Romulans always seem to go for style in their ship design. Better to intimidate and awe a potential opponent than to fight them. I think that ideology fits well with the sneaky and subversive Romulans. Do you really want all of your ships to look the same? We don't know the mechanics of warp travel. This may be a highly efficient design. It has to be better than the double-hull D'deridex. That thing looked clumsy.

K_Merse, you get better at this every day. One of the best Rom ships I have seen in a while. It fits in perfectly with my other favorite Rom ships, the Jenrix and Tetrix by pepperman!
