Pizza the Hutt, 2008-12-22

Fresh from Pizza the Hutt's kitbash factory comes this.... interesting design. I don't like it. I'm not going to lie to you about this one: the Carpathia class is probably one of the most "wtf?" worthy designs that I've seen lately. But there's method to Pizza the Hutt's madness: he's borrowing the overall starship design forms from the recently-depicted USS Kelvin, as it will be seen (and apparently destroyed) in the upcoming Star Trek film. This is a possible successor to that design, and it's so intended.

As always with Pizza the Hutt's work, the quality of the overall design (this one seems to use P81 textures) is assured, and all the things you'd want to have --build buttons, wireframes and Admirals Log pics-- are included. Best of all, it's done in the spirit of the upcoming Trek film, and like it or hate it, all our hopes for the franchise to continue are pinned to the success of that film.

Worth a look.

Installation:

Copy the file fcarp.sod into the SOD folder
Copy the .tga files into the Textures > RGB folder
Copy the file fcarp.odf into the ODF > ships folder
Copy the file fcarp.bmp into the Bitmaps > Admiralslog folder

Open the file fyard2.odf or fyard.odf (whichever shipyard you want the ship
To be built from) and insert the line: buildItemXX = "fcarp" under
build Parameters below the last ship to be build
XX being the next unused number

Save that file

Open "tech 1" from the Techtree folder and insert this line:

fcarp.odf 1 fyard.odf // carpathia Class
Save this file, open "fulltech.tt" and insert the following line

fcarp.odf 0

Then save and open "GUI_global.spr" from the sprites folder

Then add this line under federation build buttons:

b_fcarp gbffcarp 0 0 64 64

There is a wire frame, it is not perfect, but at least there is one
just add this line into the gui global under wireframes
