Wow, finally someone armed the Cargoships, why they didn't when A2 came out i dont know, but its a really good idea Wink i reall must say this is a cool weapon and upgrade of any novice or even advanced modder like myself Biggrin i'm adding to my collection, are you?

Heavy Disruptor Cannon (With the Cardassian Cargo Ship)

This gives the Cardassian Cargo Ship a Heavy Disruptor Cannon,
that doesn't do a whole lot of damage, but is really effective
against any Destroyer class vessel. I got this idea when I saw
the Deep Space Nine episode ____, where Gul Ducat and his new
ship, the Groumall defeated a B'rel class vessel (Bird of Prey)
in two shots. It can be added to any ship, but I have included
a Cardassian Cargo Ship odf of my own design to make it easier
on any newcomers out there. Keep in mind that this will replace
your standard Cardassian Cargo Ship, so it might be a good idea
to keep a copy of that file in a 'Backups' folder in a whole
different section of the computer-just in case.

To Install this weapon:

Extract all the files to proper places in the Armada II Directory,
then add all of the following lines to the specified locations in
the gui_global sprites and the fulltech and tech1 techtree folders.
NOTE: Before modifying any files, check their Properties, and if the
little box beside'read-only' has a check in it, click on it, apply
the changes you made, and close down the Properties window.


Extract the following files to the specified folder(s)

ccargo.odf = odf\ships
ghvdisrupt.odf = odf\special_weapons
hvdisrupt.odf = odf\special_weapons
gbhvdisrupt.tga = Textures\RGB
hvdisrupt.wav = sounds\effects
hvdisruptx.wav = sounds\effects


Place the following line in the gui_global sprites folder
under the # Special Weapon Buttons section

b_ghvdisrupt gbhvdisrupt 0 0 64 64


Then place this line in the fulltech and tech1 techtree folders
under the Cardassian Special Weapons section

ghvdisrupt.odf 0


And finally, place this line in your chosen ship's odf file under
the art parameters and weapon names section
(NOTE: Only use this if you are placing this weapon on another ship.)
(NOTE 2: "X" represents whatever number the weapon should be and
whatever hardpoint it should be fired from)

I now remember what episode I saw this ship in. It was called 'Return to Grace' and it was a DS9 episode.

Please people, post comments after you've used it so that I can learn how I can work to improve upon these mods. Also, if you wish to send in screenshots of this mod in action please do, so it can be shown to others.

sweet.... Now this inspires me to add a turret based weapon to those often too-weak cargo mining vessels!
