Here is a great patch for the 'Q' Project mod; See the readme for more information.


This is a update/patch for the 'Q' mod originally made by Iggy & Iron Fist.
What is added for this mod is:

1) A event menu('Q' voices for the command functions),
2) A wireframe for the mod and a build button(for any who wants to add one to the shipyards).
3) New improved Q powers odf files.
4) Admiral's Logs BMP picture.

New 'Q' installations:

1) Place any .SOD files into the SOD directory.

2) Place any .tga files into the Textures\RGB directory.

3) Place 'Q.odf' file into the odf\ships directory.

4) Place the other .odf files into the odf\other directory.

5) Place the special weapons .odf files into the odf\special weapons directory.

6) Place any .bmp files into bitmaps\AdmiralsLog\ShipImages directory.

7) Place the .wav sounds into the sounds directory.

EDITING the files:

1. Open your techtree.tt file and add this to the 'Special Weapons' list:

gsnap.odf 0
gcontrol.odf 0
gfake.odf 0
omega1.odf 0

2. Open your gui_global.spr file and add into the directory:

Under the 'Special Weapons' list:

b_gfake gbhologen 0 0 64 64
b_gsnap gbomega00 0 0 64 64
b_gcontrol gbpsionicInsanity 0 0 64 64
b_omega1 gbsupnova 0 0 64 64

Under the Sptire Data wireframe list(best to place in the federation area):

Qw1 Qwfr00 128 128 128 128

3. Open the 'Q Sounds' text listings placed in here, copy and paste it in the 'events.dat' file

4. Open your 'fed.odf' file in the odf/other directory and add this:

standardUnitsXX = "Q.odf" // the Q

(Where 'XX' is the next listed number of that list)

*NOTE: The reason for this is to BALANCE the game. The 'Q' mod is known to be the most POWERFUL and HARD one to beat.
So just building multiple of 'Q' mods from any ship yard for battle is just plan CHEATING(I feel). Yet, if you like
to add it to your shipyard, the choice is yours and you can do the shipyard editing yourself
(Q build button is included here).

I figured out the problem

it works now!

The Q are great! Good job!

But why do 8472 still attack you when you mime them?

And what REALLY annoys me, is that if you decide to kill your base and use only Q then you can't destroy planets population (military)

And you can't win :sad:

Other than that...

the weapons dont work and nor does the sounds but oh well great idea

I have a problem. The Q are exellent but only one special weapon will work, the others can't. When I try to fix them, when Q appears, the game crashes. A little help PLEASE?!

My game crashes to when the weapons are used automatically, but when I use them (with alert green) nothing happens.

Little help too please :roll:
