This is a rework of the stock Agean-Class. It is a bit stronger and better in a fight and I tried to get it to be able to repair ships, but I have had little success. If anyone can get that working please let me know. I also cleaned up the stock textures a bit. NOTE-The stock Agean-Class is needed for this to work!

Agean-Class Refit

This just a minor Cleaning up of the stock textures and a slight modification of the .odf file to allow it to act as a repair ship and also makes it a tad bit stronger so that it may better support your fleet.

Installation

This should be a drop in mod. Back up the files and textures then delete the existing textures in the Textures/RGB folder. Then simply unzip the textures into Textures/RGB and the .odf to ODF/Ships. this should install it. Thank you for downloading.

Firstly, the textures are just resized from the originals so in retrospect you do lose significant quality from the textures. Secondly, the original mesh was of low quality to begin with so this also effects the overall quality of the release. That being said, I've seen far worse in my time and this has been put together well. My advice on this would be two fold:

1) Recreate the mesh to make it look much smoother and with better detail. Milkshape 3d will import the stock model so thats not a problem.

2) If your technically minded enough with paint shop pro or photoshop then you could try revamping the textures directly. Its difficult but possible to do.

Anyway, like I said. A few what I would consider, "flaws" but a good release none the less.

I think the reason the repair beam isn't working is because you still have the ship set as a frigate, if you have the ship set in anything other than a repair ship than the repair beam won't engage.

Go to the ships' ODF file and the very top entry..

#include "frigate.odf"

....replace it with this...

#include "repairBase.odf"

..and then add this to the very bottom...

// Repair Parameters

repairRate = 3.0

...that should do it, if your still having problems head on over to any a2 forrums and ask your questions there. ;-)

Thanks for the advice! :-) I'm just starting out and I have to start somewhere.

At least you've taken the sensible approach and gone in with something relatively easy. I've known many people who dive in at the deep end and tend to drown fairly quickly. If you need any models to experiment on then feel free to pm me.

Thanks again! I have looked around on this site for about a month and finally decided to start with what I am capable of managing without much trouble. P.S. I have already fixed the problem and have uploaded the new version. :-)

By the way for anyone reading, I finally got the newer version to upload for approval. For some reason it would not upload before. If it is approved you may want to take a look.
