5discount
Here is another odd-numbered player map, this is a five player map called 5discount. This is another rather interesting design - 3 sectors on the left v 2 sectors on the right with a bit of freespace (unaffiliated space) in the middle right section. In order for all players to access each other they have to enter the freespace, again this should be a very good map where tactics are needed especially since the planets and mutara nebulae will disrupt warping so any quick counter-attacks are out of the question. 5discount is a new 5 player map. To install, extract "5discount.bmp", "5discount.bzn" and "5discount.txt" into the "bzn" subfolder inside the "Star Trek Aramada II" folder.
I release this map under the understanding that I am not liable for any issues it may cause. Essentially, you take your fate into your own hands, you have been warned. To ease your mind however, the map works fine for me. Also, if you use the map and/or it components in any form in a future release, this file or the contents within must be included.
If you find an issue, please let me know. Heck, if you know how to fix the issues you find, include that. I used the map editor that came with the original Star Trek Armada II release.
