Cardassian Advanced Shipyard Cardassian Advanced Shipyard

This Cardassian advanced shipyard looks like it belongs to the Cardassians, all right. Converted by CanadianBorg from SFC, the model itself has a more circular design than the typical linear shipyard, and resembles one we've seen the Cardies use in DS9. It's pretty decent on the poly count, and suits the needs of the Obsidian Order and their forces quite nicely.

Download this one today.

Cool

Cardassian Advanced Shipyard

Any advice or pointers are appreciated.

This shipyard is converted from a model available on SFC3Files, and was originally part of the Alternate B TC for the game. The author is unknown. If you believe this model belongs to you, please drop me a line and I will rectify the error.

Installation:

Open the archive file and extract the folder "A3 Leftovers" somewhere outside your A2 directory.

Copy all the folders inside the folder "Cardassian Advanced Shipyard" to your root A2 directory. If it asks to overwrite, say yes.

Now open gui_global.spr and delete the following entries:

cyard2w1 cardwireframe05 0 48 48 48
cyard2w2 cardwireframe05 48 48 48 48
cyard2w3 cardwireframe05 96 48 48 48
cyard2w4 cardwireframe05 144 48 48 48
cyard2w5 cardwireframe05 192 48 48 48

People who have already added new ships to their Cardassian advanced yard: Make sure to copy your build list before you replace the stock Cardassian yard, as this one is set to build the stock ships.

That's it! You're ready to use the Cardassian Advanced Shipyard in your game! I will be releasing more A3 leftovers by the way, so stay tuned!

"author unknown". Hmmmm. I don't think you did enough to try to find the author for this CB. I seriously think this should be sorted out as its way to easy to just put an author as unknown and then expect that person to make a statement that the model and/or textures belongs to them.

I finally found out. The readme file had been saved as vakor.readme, with .readme being the file extension. When I got into it, the file was partially corrupted, but I do know this: The mesh and textures are by ThomastheCat, severely edited by Howedar. Sorry to anyone I have offended.

Not to worry CB. At least you managed to find out. You do know that Achilles made a lower poly version of this as well.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Where might I find it?

Thats a very good question. My BIVR project has it, but I'm not sure if he released it seperately.

Hmm... Well this one is only about 1200 polies, and it's an original, so how far could Achilles really decrease it? I'm also working on a Cardassian pack based off ships and a yard left over from A3, so expect that soon.

I like both this yard and the other one. The stock Cardie yard is based upon something from a Voyager episode, I think. Both of these yards look a lot better in my game than the stock ones. Always nice to see new alternatives to stations.

Thank you.

To #5: I looked through BIVR during the A3 project, but I did not find this model. I found a similar one, but it is distinctly different from this one.
