This is the Nova Bomb from the serie Andromeda. I took the design from an episode and I tried to make it as close to the canon as I could. This missile uses a special light that makes a trail when moving, but the code is stock so it should cause no problems.
The mod includes the model (sod), the texture, a basic wireframe, build-button (a normal build-button and a special weapon version) and admiral's log pic. And I made since I wanted to try something extra and it can fit well if you have some ships from that serie flying around in your game.

Systems Commonwealth's Nova Bomb:

Hello:
I am Chiletrek and this mod contains a model and texture I made from the Nova Bomb, to make use for mods in the universe of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

Things I made:

1) A model along with a buildbutton, alternate Button if used as an offensive special weapon, a basic wireframe, Admiral's Log pic and ODF.
2) The missile uses a trail for visual effects, but the coding already comes with the game, so it should cause no problems.
3) This Read me with instructions to make this mod fully playable.

Installation Instructions:

1) Unzip the contents of this file on a temporary folder.
2) Open your Star Trek Armada II folder.
3) Copy cwnova.sod and paste it in your SOD folder.
4) Copy cwnova.bmp and paste it in your bitmapsAdmiralsLogShipImages folder.
5) Copy cwnovaCT.tga, cwnovawire.tga & cwnovabut1.tga (or cwnovabut2.tga for the alternate special weapon button), and paste them in your TexturesRGB folder.
6) Copy cwnova.odf and paste it in your odfships folder.

7) Open your Sprites folder and open gui_global.spr with Notepad.
8) Search for: # Alien build buttons.
@reference=64

9) Paste this line:
b_cwnova cwnovabut1 0 0 64 64
below the last entry or:
b_cwnova cwnovabut2 0 0 64 64
if using the special weapon alternate button.

10) Now Search for: #Pods_moon_asteroids_planets Wireframes
@reference=256
11) Paste this line:
cwnovaw1 cwnovawire 256 256 256 256
below the last entry.

- To add the Nova Bomb to the techtree:
12) Open your techtree folder.
13) Search and open with Notepad the files: tech1.tt and fulltech.tt
14) Add this line below the last entry: cwnova.odf 0

15) Now you can add the missile to your faourite yard by adding:
item* = "cwnova" , where * is the next number.

16) Pheewwww, Finally, you are ready to enjoy this mod, I'm sorry to make such long read me but it was neccesary to avoid problems. Now you are ready to have Nova bombs ingame, which are very useful to destroy big numbers of enemies or maybe enemy outposts.

1) Gene Roddenberry: For creating the Star Trek and Andromeda sagas.
2) Activision and Mad-Doc Software: For making the game.
3) You: For taking your time to take a look at my mod :)

hey chile do you know how far it is to release date? because if it's too far away, you could do a separate release with just the glorious heritage, and with a model this nice, even after significant poly reduction, I bet it still looks loads better than the one in the Andromeda mod, and that is plenty good enough for me ;-)

@Chiltek

I am good with a 14000 poly ship... In fact, I'd even be good with a 80000 poly ship. I like high poly ships....... they are just so beutiful and tasty... :P

well 14 thousand is a little high, but it should be okay if you're just using it for hero ship, but hey a poly reduction is always appreciated, since it means we'll be able to make it as a regular unit instead of just building one. Personally, I would rather wait for the poly-reduced version to come out, but if it take months on end... then I agree with Omega, Chile if you don't have the time to poly reduce it, don't worry about it, just release the model and let the rest of the a2 community deal with it. I'm sure I speak for many people here when I say I'd rather have that glorious heritage class rather than nothing at all.
