Crystalline Entity Patch
This is a new patch for the Crystaline Entity mod that was released on Armada II Files a few weeks back. It now has all-new interface graphics and AIP files. This is in .exe format so it's easy to install.
Crystalline Family Patch Mod(by STGamerNew2002)
This is the patch for the previous 'Crystalline Family Mod' made by Slider17. In this patch are some customized AIP files, a NEW Interface GUI for the creature, voiceover wav files and updated odf / misc. files. Now you can play AGAINST this Life-Energy draining space-born entity!
INSTALLATION:
This is a AUTO/.EXE PROGRAM mod and should be installed/placed into your Star Trek Main directory in this way
(or whatever your game has been installed at):
C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II
IMPORTANT NOTE:
YOU MUST HAVE this one mod installed already for the game to run smoothly: The Crystalline Family Mod
Some files may/will be OVERWRITTEN like; events.dat, tech1.tt, earlytech.tt, fulltech.tt, freetech.tt, races.odf, AIP/Ai files, gui_global.spr, weapons.spr, *.cfg & *.spr, etc. files THAT you may not/may have already edited/modified for personal reasons/usage, so back up your files first before installing! I strongly suggest that you DO YOUR OWN EDITING/MERGING of YOURS and THESE files if you do not want your files/game changed(if you're a EXPECT in editing files and KNOW what you're doing - cool)! For the NEWBIES who do not know how to EDIT/MODIFIY your game, understand that YOU WILL BE RISKING this installation and I will NOT BE HELD FULLY responsible for anything you do AFTER you install this and play it!

In my game's version, I took off the regular stocked 'fer.odf' file and added my own 'Ferengi Scavengers' race into them. I never expereinced what you just reported here, but I learned something new there.
In the race.odf file, I took out the 'fer.odf' file to replace it with the crystalline entity. You can add the Ferengi back if you want to, but I've notice that this part in the races' odf:
section // Instant action slot, negative means not playable
instantActionSlot = 5
You have to change it to the next available Instant Action slot. I guess the best bet is to have th list like this:
numberOfRaces = 9
race0 = "borg.odf"
race1 = "fed.odf"
race2 = "kling.odf"
race3 = "rom.odf"
race4 = "card.odf"
race5 = "species8472.odf"
race6 = "fer.odf"
race7 = "crystalline.odf"

Then turn on the Ferengi in the Instant Action Menu - that may work....
