This is the Melbourne Class converted from Bridge Commander. This ship will replace the stock Nebula CLass in the game. Also the mod creates a new photon torpedo.

Filename: Melbourne Class

[Information]

This great ship by Starforce Prodcutions replace the stock nebula class in Armada II. I have just convert the ship to Armada II and create a new build button and pictures for Admirals log. A new photon torpedo is also included.
The ship is a bit powerfuller than the old one.

[Installation]

1. Unzip all files in your Armada II directory. This will replace the stock Nebula Class. Back up the old files if you wish.

2. Build the ship and enjoy!

Okay so a couple of things spring to mind:

1) Was permission secured from P81 for this conversion?? He has been known to be very tetchy concerning cross conversions of his work (even if credit is placed in the accompanying readme).

2) Was this model actually checked for the poly count?? Considering its 4635 I'd love to see how many can have a dozen or more of these in a large fleet.

Okay so lets see. A 4500+ poly model loading along with 7 Mid res textures to install - Total: 7.13mb of files to install. So whats next then?? A 10,000 poly model, or shall we attempt a 1.5million poly Star Destroyer that was released.

Sorry if this sounds very negative but I'm truely getting sick to death of seeing these much higher than average poly models being released as single downloads.

As to the model and textures. They are, as expected, of high quality (nothing less that is shown in Ricks work).

Tom. Please don't take this statement the wrong way though. Its no actual baring on your release, but as a suggestion, instead of releasing a high poly model (which the game engine doesn't like rendering to many of), try to get a lower poly version of the one you plan to release. It'll be somewhat better for the game (could you imagine if you had a replacement side for the federation which were all model sin excess of 4 or 5000 polys).

p81 doesn't care what is done to his ships with regards to kitbashing and converting so long as credit is given, this is common knowledge. However, this is ADMIRALS not P81s and yea he will be quite *****ed off if he see's this and was never asked.

to add, p81 is on there for textures cuz I think some minor changes had to be done with the kitbash, registrey ect but the main part of this is admirals.

Thanks for the clarification Starforce. Now if the textures had been applied to a new model then I would have been most happy to see this, but with a 4.5k+ poly model, I'm somewhat disappointed.

Still, eventually people will have the hardware to deal with this. Mind you. I wouldn't suggest releasing the newest Sovvy. If I remember rightly its around 8000 polys.

you gotta wonder just how much Memory Toms

computer has... I MEAN 3000+ poly :o THATS JUST INSANE...

Actually the poly count is 4500+ #6 and a question springs to my mind as well:

Why, if people can make ships look this GREAT, do they choose totally obscure vessels instead of working at the stock version? I mean, has anyone seen the Nebula's Deflector Dish? Ugh! no offense to the original design team, but, COME ON! You're that good at programming and you couldn't take just a little more time and research on the freakin' DEFLECTOE DISH?! SHEESH!

I like the deflector dish, if it's the one in those pictures.
