Kelvin Class Kelvin Class

Personally not my idea of a ship, and (from a part) you can tell it shares parts of the Miranda & Sovereign (the obvious part being the Sovereign Bridge). Nevertheless, this is yet another great kitbash from pizza, and I'm sure we can look foward to many more to come Wink

Kelvin Class starship by Pizza the Hutt

This ship is based on a design by Patrick Weber of Ussmiranda.com. I tried to remake this
ship as accurate as possible.

The Kelvin matches my other Sovereign kitbashes in scale and textures.

Known flaws: wireframe not perfect, damage textures not correct.

Installation:
-------------

Copy the file fkelvin.sod into the SOD folder
Copy the .tga files into the Textures > RGB folder
Copy the file fkelvin.odf into the ODF > ships folder
Copy the file fkelvin.bmp into the Bitmaps > Admiralslog folder

Open the file fyard2.odf or fyard.odf (whichever shipyard you want the ship
To be built from) and insert the line: buildItemXX = "fkelvin" under
build Parameters below the last ship to be build
XX being the next unused number

Save that file

Open "tech 1" from the Techtree folder and insert this line:

fkelvin.odf 1 fyard2.odf // kelvin class

Save this file, open "fulltech.tt" and insert the following line

fkelvin.odf 0

Then save and open "GUI_global.spr" from the sprites folder

Then add this line under federation build buttons:

b_fkelvin gbfkelvin 0 0 64 64

There is a wire frame, it is not perfect, but at least there is one
just add this line into the gui global under wireframes

@reference=128
@tmaterial=interface

fkelvinw1 fkelvinwire 40 0 40 40
fkelvinw2 fkelvinwire 0 40 40 40
fkelvinw3 fkelvinwire 40 40 40 40
fkelvinw4 fkelvinwire 80 0 40 40
fkelvinw5 fkelvinwire 0 0 40 40

Thanks to Major A Payne for contacting Pneumonic81 and for letting me
use the triple deflector dish hull of his Draven class.

Not a bad design but I do believe the textures need some work to match them up a bit better.

I like it-- it's like an upgraded version of the Soyuz/Centaur class design. And it uses Excelsior II parts, too.

Can't wait to see what she handles like. My only point of contention is that Pizza's been rather caught up with the Sovereign lately-- I'd much rather that the Hutt work on TOS and TMP era designs, preferably straight out of the Franz Joseph Starfleet tech manual! I'd LOVE to see what his Federation class dreadnought (as an example) would look like!

TMP designs then? I'd love to see an upgraded version of the Ulysses class dreadnaught...hint hint.

This ship though is definitely very nice.

The Ulysses is awesome, but I'd like to see a Yamoto Battlecruiser too. PS, if someone DOES do the Ulysses, they'd better make a Quatum Phaser special weapon to go with it.

I've been noticing that good ol' Pizza has been on a stint of doing designs from the USS Miranda Starship Database, as per the play-by-email simulation. All I have to say is PLEASE DONT STOP lol. There are several good designs of ships there that I would kill to see in-game since I have no prior modding experience. I can hardly wait to see what comes out next!

Kelvin class, wasn't that the first USS Miranda NCC-77000, nice

We need to get all the ships from USS Miranda, heck anyone who's already made a trek model would have no trouble since most are just rearangments or kitbashs

Please make the Pathfinder, since people have dictched the Titan class juggerenaught, the Pathfinder is the most powerful 24th century ship
