This ship is a refit / upgrade of the Freedom class we saw in the Wolf 359 graveyard scene.The neck had been shortened and strengthened and the saucer section has been upgraded to Galaxy specifications. Includes build button, wireframes, and Admirals Log picture. It does use stock textures and borg textures though, from the Galaxy class.

This is my first ship.This ship is a modification of the stock Galaxy Class
It has some minor flaws with the wireframes and the damage textures, but it works.
It should actually be slower, because it has only one nacelle. It is a refit/ upgrade of the Freedom class
we saw in the Wolf 359 graveyard scene.The neck had been shortened and strengthened and the saucer section
has been upgraded to Galaxy specifications. The ship uses the textures (normal and assimilated) of the stock
Galaxy Class.


Installation:
-------------

Copy the file ffree2.sod into the SOD folder
Copy the .tga files into the Textures > RGB folder
Copy the file ffree2.odf into the ODF > ships folder
Copy the file ffree2.bmp into the Bitmaps > Admiralslog folder

Open the file fyard2.odf or fyard.odf (whichever shipyard you want the ship
To be built from) and insert the line: buildItemXX = "ffree2" under
build Parameters below the last ship to be build
XX being the next unused number

Save that file

Open "tech 1" from the Techtree folder and insert this line:

ffree2.odf 1 fyard2.odf // Freedom class (refit)

Save this file, open "fulltech.tt" and insert the following line

ffree2.odf 0

Then save and open "GUI_global.spr" from the sprites folder

Then add this line under federation build buttons:

b_ffree2 gbffree2 0 0 64 64


There is a wire frame, it is not perfect, but at least there is one
just add this line into the gui global under wireframes

look's good, obviously it'd look better with better textures, but as the model goes, it fits in rather nicely, all in all, :thumbsup:

It looks good, but didn't the Freedom class had a Niagara saucer?

In a refit they can change the naccelles, but not the saucer section.

And it already was refitted, the engines used to be from an other ship.

(Models looks good, just a bit criticism)

but the torpedo tubes or what looks like torpedo tubes are to close to the worp engons. :o


the freedom class mite be week but it was a part of the fedration.

It's a nice ship, but I personally don't like it. 8/10 because it was kitbashed from (a) stock model(s)

Yes,, the yeager was made. It's in Ghosts Compilation Mod.

There is a whole slew of Wolf 359 ships that have yet to be built. So far the only ones built are the Niagra, New Orleans, and Cheyenne classes. Niagra I got from Ghost's Compilation Mod, and the Cheyenne and New Orleans, thankfully, was modelled separately. There is a Typhoon Class that looks almost like a Challenger class, but the secondary hull doesn't match the Challenger classes.


According to www.ditl.org/, the following ships were also Wolf 359 class ships, and I've yet to see them built for Armada 2 (although a good number of them have been made for BC already):


Freedom Class (not the refit above which I will comment on later)*

Anyway, about this Freedom Class refit. I'm actually disappointed. A refit normally implies improvement. This looks more like a prototype for the original Freedom Class. And the textures only make it worse.

I would think the Freedom Refit would be made from Soverieign parts.
