Iwo Jima class by Aad Moerman

This is my version of the Federation Assault ship. I've created a special weapon for her: the shuttlesquad.
I've met some problem with the weapon button. The weapon works fine, but the button doesn't show. If someone can figure it
out, pleas let me know.

Important Note:
Make a backup of your existing files, because the files in this folder will overwrite the stock files!

Credits:

As allways, thanks to Wrath of Achilles for his Texture Tutorial and Major A Payne for his SodTutorial.

All meshes, textures, etc are by me.

The Odf files are edited stock files.

Thanks to Dan Ocean for letting me use his Javelin ODF file.

Installation instructions

put the sod files into the sod folder, the fassault odf file into the odf ship folder, the
gfshutsqdfile in the special weapon folder.
and the tga into the texture RGB folder. ( I include the MS3D files for those who are interested.)
Open Bitmaps --> open Admiralslog --> open ShipImages and put the image there.

Open Sprites --> open gui_global

find the lines:

# Special weapon buttons

look under
@reference=64
@tmaterial=interface

Add below this list:

b-gfshuttlesqd gbfshuttlesqd 0 0 64 64

then find the lines:

# Federation wireframes
@reference=256

delete the next lines:

fassaultw1 fedwireframe02 0 192 48 48
fassaultw2 fedwireframe02 48 192 48 48
fassaultw3 fedwireframe02 96 192 48 48
fassaultw4 fedwireframe02 144 192 48 48
fassaultw5 fedwireframe02 192 192 48 48

find:

# Federation wireframes
@reference=128 (if not present, just add the reference)

add below that list:

fassaultw1 wffassault 0 0 128 128

find the line:

add below:

gfshuttlesqd.odf 0 // Starfleet assault shuttles

add under Federation:

found the problem you forgot the special = 1 code from the weapon without this make the weapon act as a normal weapon and not use a button (and dsnt use the techtree even if added)

Holy Crap is right!! You wouldn't notice just by looking at this ship, but the sod file is actually smaller than the OG stuff, which makes me think that the sod is actually less poly than the original. If that is the case, well done, not only has Aad completely revamped that oft-hated ship, but he's reduced the poly-count as icing on the cake. It doesn't get much better than this people. 10/10, anything less would be an insult to a fantastic modder.

1. open "gfshuttlesqd.odf" with notepad


2. scroll to where it says "//Programming Stuff DO NOT CHANGE

classLabel = "drones_weapon" "


3. under it add: "// Special

special = 1 "


4. profit! I mean save. :-)
