Fabrux class Fabrux class

The author of this mod says that "The Fabrux class battle frigate was built to replace the ageing Aegian class frigate." I didn't realize that the Aegian was an ageing design. I assumed it was one of Starfleet's newest designs. What exactly a 'battle frigate' is, I'm not sure. Somewhere between a battlecruiser and a frigate. Which would make it a cruiser, would it not? These naval designations applied to Starfleet never really work, do they.

Either way, the Fabrux class frigate looks like a guitar pick with warp engines. And it'll either become one of your favourites in a hurry (it's VERY well armed, perhaps a little too well armed) or you'll dislike the design from the outset and refrain from commenting about it. And that's fine, but it's worth a look.

Cool

Fabrux class by-New Gen Mods/ShoeBox

The Fabrux class battle frigate was built to replace the ageing Aegian class frigate.
It has more shielding, weapons and armour.Armament-6x phaser banks,4x photon launchers,Shield Enhancer, and Tractor beam.Makes for a little more bite in battle.

This ship was tested in Stock Armada 2.
It's a higher poly model with 1024 res textures so it "may" slow down older computers.

I quite like the design, even though the poly count is high, its still worth a download.

Hm...rebuilding a ship is nasty....at least in my opinion.

Well...where do i start.#6 Thanks for the link to the ship specs and designer.I had one picture to work with and wasn't to sure of it's classification.#7You know i'll take your advise any day of the week.I don't think i'll be poly reducing this model any further but Shadow and i will keep to lower poly from now on.I have had fleets of these on my game with no problems but i have a pretty good PC.The Legacy version is 9931 poly with more detail and we added the bottom arm. With the new pictures we will be make more changes now.#4(gdata)Legacy version will be for TB3.

Okay, sounds great Chris.

I fully agree on all points.

Great textures by the way and if the model was 1500 I would be downloading it but at 6000 I unfortunately won't be. It would be sluggage even on my AMD Quad Core as it's the game engine not the PC that one needs to take into consideration.

Interesting design though kudos for the design and textures. ;-)

I've reworked the ship into a number of roles, envisioning it as a sort of modular ship that can be reset internally to fill a number of roles. Escort Carrier, High-Speed Cargo, Repair Ship, Hospital Ship, Construction Ship, Colony Ship, Assault Ship, and light support frigate. I didn't even look at the poly count on it and I've had as many as 25 on screen at one time with no ill-effects and I'm running a very crappy old Sempron with this particular mod.
