This is a build button, wireframe, odf and Admirals Log picture for an Excalibur Class, and includes a very nice Model and Textures. Nice addition to the game.

Clean A2 Installation
--------------
For installation into a clean copy of Armada 2 simply run the .exe file and it will install itself quite happily.

Modded A2 Installation
--------------
To install into a modded version of Armada 2 you will need to do the following -

1) Run the .exe but change the path to a temporary folder

2) From the temporary folder move the files to the following locations -
fexcal.bmp ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\bitmaps\AdmiralsLog\ShipImages
fexcal.odf ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\odf\ships
fexcal.sod ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\SOD
gbfexcal.tga ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\Textures\RGB
excalpri.tga ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\Textures\RGB
excalsec.tga ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\Textures\RGB
fexcalwf.tga ----------> C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\Textures\RGB

3) Open "tech1.tt" and insert the following line under Federation Ships
fexcal.odf 2 fyard2.odf fupgrade.odf // battleship (excalibur class)

4) Open "fulltech.tt" and insert the following line
fexcal.odf 0

5) Open "gui_global.spr" and insert the following line under the "b_fspecial" entry
b_fexcal gbfexcal 0 0 64 64

6) Also in the "gui_global.spr" file, scroll down to the bottom of the Federation wireframes and inset the line
fexcalw1 fexcalwf 0 0 128 128

7) Open "fyard2.odf" and insert the line
buildItem# = "fexcal"

(# = what position you want the button to appear in the yard)
(Be sure to change all the other build numbers if you put it into position 2 for example)

That should be it, you're ready to go!! :)

Notes
-------------
I did not create this model!! I merely made the ship available as a single release to the community in general. Unfortunately in this case I do not know the identity of the person who created The model and texture, which is a shame as I like to see the credit given where it is due. All credit for the model goes to original author whomever that may be. I hope they do not object to me re-releasing it in this way.

If this is your model & you do object to this release, please let me know and I will arrange for it to be removed from the download sites!!

Permissions
-------------
If you wish to use this release in your mod that is fine with me, however please be sure to credit the model creator!!

That's true Draconis but they are extremly accurate, and I go there constantly just to get the proper names for the ships in my A2. If you want to see if they're kitbashed just check the very bottom of the page that that ship is on and it will tell you whether it was kitbashed and by who. And this is definitely NOT an Excalibur Mk II. But it does have the Nacelles of an Excalibur Mk II... Hmmm... My Non-Canon sense is tingling!

the ghost's compilation mod has proper nacelles for the Excalibur.

it would seem that the only greened nacelles Excalibur (USS Paris) uses transwarp (that's why the nacelles r green: using a special gas) while all other uses regular warp (blue nacelles). heard there was only 2 Excalibur Mk I and the rest of the Excaliburs are Mk II

I think you might be right, but I can't be certain.

Hello:

The Excalibur class is a magnificent ship (but Nebula class ships are better :-) ), I think that I saw her in the Millenium Project but I'm not sure.

I was wondering if someone can make the Pathfinder class (USS Miranda). I really like to see this ship in the Armada2 game

ODF's are my specialty, so if someone was willing to do the rest (I can't-don't know how and even if I did I don't have the proper software), I would gladly whip up the proper ODF's. Ship Phasers, and Torpedoes, but, someone will ned to help me out a little with the Pathfinder's MVAM (Multi-Vector *****alut Mode-like the Prometheus), because I can program it, but if they build it, it needs to be canon with the info.

the fact that it will be supposedly released.

I'm just mess'n. I'm sure that the staff will put it up for download soon.

I think somebody should make a Galaxy III and a Shania. Both ships can be found on the same website that has been constantly referred to throughout this entire post.
