Cardassian Repair Ship Cardassian Repair Ship

This is a nice re-boot of the Cardassian repair ship, changing the design and using one more suitably Cardassian looking. As repair ship designs go, the stock game didn't give us any that looked like they belonged in the Star Trek canon. The Federation design was bad, the Klingon and Romulan designs worse, but the Cardassian design had that sheer "wtf?" factor that made it especially silly, especially in combat.

Nevertheless, you can always count on Dan1025 to solve any problems in a top-notch mod, and this one's definitely worth the effort of replacing your stock ship with it.

Cool

Finally finishing my line of replacement Cardassian ships I present the new Repair Ship, made by kitbashing Zorgs Galor Class. The model has 5 textures and a poly count of 1034.

This will act as a replacement for your Repair Ship (csrepair).

Included in this mod are:

SOD file
Ship textures
Borg textures
Ship ODF
AdmiralsLog picture
Buildbutton
Wireframe

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Installation Instructions:

1. Place "csrepair.sod" into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/SOD folder.
2. Place all files found in the RGB folder into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/Textures/RGB folder.
3. Place "csrepair.odf" into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/odf/ships folder.
4. Place the "csrepair.bmp" file found in the ShipImages folder into the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/bitmaps/AdmiralsLog/ShipImages folder.

(Ensuring you click "Yes" when the computer asks if you'd like to replace the older files).

5. Find the file named "gui_global.spr" found in the Activision/Star Trek Armada II/Sprites folder and open it (use notepad).

Search for where it says:

"Cardassian Wireframes"

and delete the entry for csrepair

now find where it says:

"@reference=64"

(if "@reference=64" isn't in your Cardassian Wireframes section you'll need to add it at the end of the section).

and add:

csrepairw1 WFcsrepair 0 0 64 64
csrepairw2 WFcsrepair 0 0 64 64
csrepairw3 WFcsrepair 0 0 64 64
csrepairw4 WFcsrepair 0 0 64 64
csrepairw5 WFcsrepair 0 0 64 64

Save and close the file.

Finally, a Cardassian repair ship that actually looks Cardassian, rather than like a space squid. Excellent work as always Dan.

P.S. Resistance is futile, eh?

Looks good, the original resembled the 8472 Behemoth.

On a side note, the Federation Repair ship is a Starfleet-looking design.

beautiful danno... simply beautiful!

looks great but what are the little shipyard style bay things for (unless its just to show its has sumthing to do with construction/repair. Much better than stock anyway you should consider releasing all your carddies in one pack awell to make it easier to find them

Personally I didn't mind the stock repair ship all that much, but that doesn't change the fact that this one's MUCH better!

wow, nice work definitely a keeper and definitely better than the stock version, but like apoclydon I'm wondering about the extension on the bottom of the ship?

I hope you'll make a hybrid battlecruiser like the one in BC, I really liked that ship.

Thanks for comments all, glad you like the mod :-)

#5 + #7 - The extensions on the underside of the ship are actually the "prongs" that were on the front of the stock version, I retextured them and made them look more like a holding bay to, as apoclaydon said, make it look like it had something to do with construction or repair :-)
