Akira Class Starships
This pack contains two different Akiras which have been converted to mesh format for eager modders to convert and add into their game. It consists of the Akira featured in BI:VR, which has been reduced in terms of files for textures (10 down to 3) and re-map to fit the new amount. Still looks good if you ask me. The other version uses slightly different model parts and mix-and-match textures to povide a more "armoured Akira", which I think looks better.
Remember, to get these to work, you need to convert them to SOD format and presumably add hp's. Otherwise, a very nice job.

Akira Class Starship (X2)
##############################
In brief What we have here are two very nice models of the Akira Class. The two models were originally going to be used for my Zero Hour project.
The first Model Addition One was the first one to go in the project and was originally taken from BI:VR. This model (from VR) came with 10 separate texture sets, which meant more Mesh Groups etc. With time, and Photoshop at hand, I put parts of the textures together to change those 10 texture sets which now stand at 3. In addition to that, I also had to remap the textures to the model.
The second Model Addition Two is a mix of models from Alex Jager. I believe somewhere the BC Akira is lurking, but I cant be sure. It uses texture sets from two different Akiras (via Rick Knox) - (the same look to the textures, just different in some places), thus I combined them and again did some more re-mapping.

These two ships are free to use at your disposal (providing credit is given). You dont need to contact me to ask as Im giving it before hand.
As already said, they were to be used for Zero Hour, but I now have a different Akira which renders these two useless, so, as I do with everything I dont any longer need, I am releasing them to the community.

Please note, these are only models, they have not been configured for in-game. They come in .MS3D format and with their respective .TGA files.

i dont like ships wich doesnt include the neccessary images or odf files but that this one isnt in sod format is really bad. How can people add this ship to their games without buying 3d modding programs?
And then its complicate for beginners to add hardpoints and to work with lightmaps...
By the way ur lightmaps are only visible in armada2, did you check or ever saw them?
what I think is that you did not much for these sips and they need to be finished.
The whole point of the mesh folder is so that people can upload meshes. This actually makes it easier for people who want them for other games or want to edit them. It's essentially a great idea. You can't mark it down jsut because of that, surely
Also, lightmaps don't work in A1, just to clear that up. J7
There is no need for me to have HP'ed them and everything. It would have been a waste of my time.
#2 Thanks
Wrong, light maps can work in Armada 1 if you know the work-around.
