A number of months ago, I converted DJ Curtis' stunning USS Enterprise-D to my Armada 2 for personal use. As much as I would love to spread the love around

and release the model in question, DJ has denied permission to release converted works of his, so unfortunately I can't.

I was inspired by Dan1025 and Thunderfoot006 to do a pic pack, as they do seem to be rather lacking on A2Files. This pack includes a number of various scenes

both from the TNG series, and from a fan-fic of mine where the Enterprise-D was not destroyed at Veridian III.

Hope you guys like it!!!

Welcome to the club and yes she is a beauty indeed(excelent snapshots ISS Enterprise-D)I never considered converting DJ's galaxy class for a2, the poly count must be enormous.

Yeah, poly count is seriously high. I can only have one of these and a few other high detail or high poly ships before my comp starts to lag. Really need that new one to come soon...

What about the textures? Will he at least let you use his textures, since with a little skill, you can retexture a stock model Galaxy using them!
#6 ISS_Enterprise_D 2010-02-14 10:10
Nope. Since he didn't want any converted works released, that means ALL parts of the ship, including the textures. Hell, the only part of the model I own are the HP's I put on it and the odf file. The HP's are a little screwy for some reason too.

I'm a map maker, not a modeler :P

lol this is a tease "look what you can't have"

definitly too bad about this model not being converted

I don't think it's that good of an idea to release anyway, even if I had DJ's permission. The hardpoints are really screwed up for some reason I can't begin to fathom. I place HP's all over the phaser banks of the model, but when ingame, they fire from various points on the hull, sometimes even off the model itself. Torpedoes fire out of the foward HP, even if the ship is facing the complete opposite direction. If someone could point me in the right way of fixing them, I might try seeing to seek DJ's permission for release. Even if I can't get it, the HP help would be greatly appreciated for future work of converting I might do
