And here we got another one of Ntanels A1 remakes Tongue , this time an 8 player map.

This map is splitted up into 9 areas, 8 of them supplying you with 1 D and 1 M class planet, 2 dilithium moons and some latinum nebulas. With a strong fleet of ships in your back you can go on fighting for the additional moons, nebulas and planets in the middle Rock .

README.txt

8compete is a remake of the original Star Trek Armada Fierce Competition eight player map. To install, extract "8compete.bmp", "8compete.bzn" and "8compete.txt" into the "bzn" subfolder inside the "Star Trek Aramada II" folder.

I release this map under the understanding that I am not liable for any issues it may cause. Essentially, you take your fate into your own hands, you have been warned. To ease your mind however, the map works fine for me. Also, if you use the map and/or it components in any form in a future release, this file or the contents within must be included.

If you find an issue, please let me know. Heck, if you know how to fix the issues you find, include that. I used the map editor that came with the original Star Trek Armada II release.

You can reach me via the forums at Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations (http://www.fleetops.net/). My username is Ntanel.

Tip: Watch out for the nebulas, they are a speed trap!

Thank you and ciao!

Balanced indeed, but I am a bit concerned about the size of this map.

What are the dimensions?

10000 x 10000, thats not too big ;-)

Will include map size in future reviews

Its quite small actually, my long standing method of judging the size of a map is to simply look at the size of the gravity wells generated by the planets in comparison to the total size of the map.

That being said Freyr, 12000x12000 was the largest map in A2 and that was Warzone so it's not the smallest map around, that being said, it'll likely be quite chaotic, so that sounds good.

Hello:

I agree, it's very fun to see many fleets engaging in combat in an area, it's a funny mess indeed :-)
